dates.sites Project Cinema City Bombay/Mumbai is a timeline of the city of Bombay/Mumbai in the 20th century anchored to its most adored public institution – cinema. The text is a compilation and deliberate stitching together of the found information, knowledge, scribbles and oracles from the formal and informal, and acknowledged and discarded sources. The text is layered with images which too are found in circulation in the streets, bazaars and personal archives; yet the relationship between the text and the image is far from being umbilical but associative, in a playful way.
